MANSIONPOKER.NET POKER DOME CHALLENGE DEBUT EPISODE AN
UNQUALFIED SUCCESS
MANSIONPOKER.NET POKER DOME CHALLENGE
FSN's highly-anticipated new poker series, MANSIONPOKER.NET POKER DOME
CHALLENGE, met all the hype in its first installment as 25-year old UK
poker television personality Rhowena Colclough came back from what seemed
to be an insurmountable feat to shock runner-up Jonathan Sullivan and
take home the $25,000 first place check and a seat at the series' first
final table.
The show tapes Saturday nights and airs Sunday nights at 11 p.m. local.
The second episode, featuring six players from around the world who qualified
on Mansionpoker.net, airs Sunday, June 4 at 11 p.m. local.
The POKER DOME CHALLENGE is a 43-week series containing six seven-week Speed Poker tournaments, all leading to one final table where one online qualifier walks away with $1 million. Speed Poker, created by Mansionpoker.net, gives each player 15 seconds to act before the player's hand is declared dead. One extra second could mean the difference between moving on and going home.
The most technologically advanced televised poker program, the action was fast-paced and the Speed Poker format led to wild chip swings, bad decisions — and allowed for tremendous bluffs.
Veteran announcer Barry Tompkins and poker analyst Michael Konik call the first seven-week tournament, with Leeann Tweeden serving as the sideline reporter.
Speedy Reviews:
"Memorial Day weekend on the Strip boomed with poker possibilities, but it was Mansionpoker.net's Poker Dome Challenge that lured spectators ... For those planning a weekend in Las Vegas, no trip to the poker Mecca would be complete without spending a Saturday night at the Poker Dome as an audience member."
— Lisa Wheeler, Card Player Magazine
"The Poker Dome has the potential to turn poker into a true spectator sport, and not just when it's edited for television ... I love typing the words ‘Poker
Dome.' It just sounds so big and so post-apocalyptic."
— Poker author BJ Nemeth
